Gurudwara Library

Ever wanted to know where your favorite Shabad was composed? Well why not visit our library and find out!

Your Library

Our shared library is free to use, it is based in a very well lit room with boardroom style layout in a quite corner of our Barking GuruKhar. We house a vast collection of book’s, Sakhi comics, Gurbani Steek’s, cassette’s, CD’s and daily news papers. Literature is available for in both Gurmukhi and English Language for beginners and advance readers.

We also have a PC with fast internet access for the sangat to use.

If you wish to borrow any of the books, please see the librarian (Dr Jaswant Singh) on duty at the time. You must take responsibility for the safe and punctual return of any materials you borrow. The library is there for everyone to use and if individual visitors hang on to books for too long, they will be depriving others from the benefits

If you have a request for any specific books, that we do not keep stock of, then please submit a request to our Libririan Dr Jaswant Singh. Alternately please email us on gurdwarabarking@hotmail.com We ask that you provide Author, Title as a minimum. If available it would also be helpful if you can let us know the ISBN number and publish date. If we can, we will try and acquire the book for you. This is subject to demand, availability and cost. The Gurdwara makes no guarantee to provide requested materials.

If you have books or material that you would like to donate to the library, please do let us know. We will gladly accept dontated materials that could benefit other visitors.

Lastly we are currently looking for sewadars to help us digitalise our vast collection of cassets both video and audio. Please contact the library if you would like to help.
